Jürgen von der Lippe, born Hans-Jürgen Hubert Dohrenkamp in 1948, is a German comedian, musician, author, TV host, and entertainer. Raised in Bad Salzuflen and later Aachen, he originally trained as a reserve officer before studying German, philosophy, and linguistics. He began his entertainment career in the 1970s, performing in Berlin clubs and later co-founding the comedy band Gebrüder Blattschuss. After leaving the band, he pursued a solo career in comedy, music, and television.
Von der Lippe became widely known through TV shows like So isses, Donnerlippchen, and Geld oder Liebe, where he mixed humor with skits and guest interviews. He also released music, with his hit "Guten Morgen, liebe Sorgen" topping charts in the 1980s.
In his stage shows, he often portrays fictional characters like "Hochwürden," a naive priest, and "Kalle," a rough Berliner. He’s also known for his colorful shirts, often mistaken for Hawaiian shirts. Despite TV success, his main passion remains live performance. He lives in Berlin with his partner Anne and is also a member of the Magischer Zirkel von Deutschland.
